What is the Free Admission with EBT Program?
If you currently have an Ohio Food Stamps EBT card, you are eligible for free or discounted admission to over 110 locations in Ohio. This includes museums, botanical gardens, theaters, musical performances, dance performances, zoos, sports and entertainment venues and more.
In addition to local Ohio locations, your Direction Card also gives you access to discounted and free admission to over 800 museums nationwide. To learn more, continue reading below.
Museums for All Program
Museums for All is a federal program that gives SNAP food stamp recipients free or reduced-price admission to over 800 museums throughout the United States. To take advantage of discounted or free admission, you simply present your SNAP EBT Card at participating museums.
The Museums for All program has a wide variety of museums including including art, history, natural history/anthropology, children’s museums, science centers, planetariums, nature centers, historic sites, zoos, aquariums, botanical gardens, and arboretums.
Participating museums provide reduced admission, ranging from free to $3.00 to visitors with their Ohio EBT card.
This discount is available to all SNAP EBT Cardholders year-round during normal operating hours for up to four individuals.
Although the program is targeted at Food Stamps EBT Cardholders, many sites allow EBT cards from other programs, including:

Columbus Zoo & Aquarium Discount for Ohio Direction EBT
The Columbus Zoo offers a special discounted membership for families that have an Ohio Direction EBT Card.
The Columbus Zoo Family Access Membership is available to eligible Ohio families at the discounted price of only $45 per year.
Benefits of the Family Access Membership include:
- FREE admission for 12 months
- FREE parking and digital magazine, the Beastly Banner
- 10% discount in Columbus Zoo and Aquarium gift shops
- Discounts at Safari Golf Club, Educational Classes, and Camp Offerings
- Discounts on Zoombezi Bay single-day tickets and season passes (excluding Gold members)
- Discounted add-on rates for The Wilds memberships
- 50% discount on Open-Air Safari Tours at The Wilds
- Access to member-only events
Families eligible for the Columbus Zoo Membership discount must be participating in one of the following programs:
- Food Stamps (SNAP)
- Cash Assistance (TANF)
- Medicaid
- WIC
Ohio households can purchase the discounted Columbus Zoo Membership by visiting the Membership and Season Pass Processing building at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.
You must have proof of eligibility to qualify for the discount. As a result, you will be asked to provide your photo ID, proof of Ohio residency, and proof of qualifying program participation at the time of purchase.
The Family Access Membership admits up to two adults in the same household, plus either dependent children OR grandchildren up to age 21 (not both) to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.

Cincinnati Zoo Discount for Ohio EBT
The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden is offering discounted tickets and season passes to Ohio food stamps recipients.
The Zoo Access for All program encourages families and individuals of all backgrounds to visit the zoo and build lifelong memories.
To access the Cincinnati Zoo discounted tickets, SNAP recipients must show their Ohio Direction EBT Card and a photo ID at the door.
The Zoo Access for All program offers discounted tickets to eligible families at the following rates:
- Adults – $6 per ticket
- Children (ages 2 to 12) – $3 per ticket
- Seniors (age 62 or older) – $3 per ticket
- Family Membership – $50
- Parking – $1
There is a limit of eight discounted tickets per one Ohio Direction Card.

Can I get free admission with Ohio EBT in another state?
Yes, your Ohio Direction Card qualifies you for reduced-price or free admission at any participating Museums for All location in another state.
Can I pay with admission with my Ohio SNAP EBT Card?
No, your Ohio Direction Card and SNAP/TANF benefits only qualify you for the reduced or free admission price. You cannot use your SNAP EBT Card benefits to purchase anything that is not a food or grocery item – including admission. Any admission costs must be paid for with alternate methods, such as cash or credit.
Can I use WIC or something other than SNAP to get the Museums for All rate?
Many of the participating museums will accept WIC or some other form of identification, but they are not required to. Please check with the museum before you visit, as there is no guarantee that they will honor anything besides an Ohio Direction EBT card.
The museum I want to visit isn’t on this list. Can I still get discounted admission with my Ohio EBT Card?
While most museums offer some type of discount to Ohio Direction EBT Cardholders, we cannot guarantee that you will get an admission rate of $3 or less.
