Here’s how to sign up for Amazon Prime Discount for Ohio EBT:
Step 1 – Visit the Prime Discount Site
Visit the Amazon Prime Discount website and click on “START 30-DAY FREE TRIAL”. Click here to be taken to the website.
Step 2 – Upload EBT Card to Activate Discount
Next, you will be taken to a page where you will have to log in to your Amazon.com account or sign up for an amazon.com account if you don’t already have an account.
You need a current and valid EBT card to sign up. If you are currently receiving Food Stamps, WIC, TANF, or General Assitance and have an EBT Card, you qualify.
Once you have logged into your Amazon account, you will be taken to a page like the one below.
Once there, perform the following functions as shown in the image below with arrows:
- Select “EBT” under “Choose how you want to qualify”
- Enter your EBT Card Number
- Select your state under “Issuing State”
- Upload a picture of your EBT card
- Check the box to confirm that your EBT card is current and valid.
- Once you enter the requested information, click the “Continue” button. The continue button will only show once you enter all the requested information.
- Next, you will be taken to a page to confirm your payment information.
- Once you add your payment information, you will be taken to the “Eligibility Under Review” page. This means Amazon is reviewing your request.
Step 3 – Start Enjoying Prime Discounts on Amazon
If your information is approved, you will be notified by email – which will be your indication that you are now ready to use Amazon Prime!
You can start enjoying Amazon Prime benefits right away.
Note: Every 12 months, you’ll have to verify you still have a current and valid EBT card.
You can enjoy your Amazon Prime EBT Discount for four years.
However, you will not be able to share your Prime membership with a second adult like you can with the full-priced membership.

Does Amazon accept food stamps?
Amazon is part of an online pilot run by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Currently, customers with a valid Ohio SNAP EBT card can use their SNAP funds on Amazon. Amazon is hoping to expand the program to other states soon.
Do I need a Prime membership to use my SNAP EBT card on Amazon?
No. Shopping with a valid Ohio-issued SNAP EBT card allows you to access Amazon Fresh and Amazon Grocery selection without fees.
Order minimums still apply to Amazon Fresh and Amazon Grocery to unlock free shipping.

Do Restaurants in Ohio Accept EBT?
Unfortunately, you cannot use your Ohio EBT card at restaurants to purchase ready-made food or hot food.

As you can see above, you can purchase groceries online for home delivery using your Ohio EBT card at Amazon and Walmart Stores.
What are the foods I cannot purchase with the Ohio EBT Card?
You CANNOT use the Ohio Direction Card to buy:
- Alcoholic drinks
- Cigarettes and tobacco products
- Vitamins
- Medicines
- Pet food
- Paper goods
- Household goods such as cleaning supplies
- Food that will be eaten in the grocery store
- Hot foods that are ready to eat in the grocery store
- Food sold to be heated while you are still in the grocery store.
- Most other items that are not food

To check the balance on your Ohio Direction EBT card, you can:
- Call 1-866-386-3071
- Check the receipt from your most recent purchase.
- Check your balance at the store before buying anything, if the store allows it.

The following programs help families with children get enough food:
Power Pack
This is a program where food banks work with schools to give students packs of healthy food to take home for the weekend.
You can apply for a Power Pack through your local food bank.
School Meals
Schoolchildren may be able to get free or reduced-price school meals, including breakfast, lunch, or even dinner after school.
Special Milk Program
Additionally, if your child attends a school, preschool, or daycare that does not participate in the school meal program, they may be able to get free milk.
Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)
When school is out, children may be able to get free meals during the summer in some areas.

WIC is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children.
